Our Values
At our factory and in our development work, FIJI Water focuses on sustainable solutions. We are committed to reducing our emissions by 25% and using at least 50% renewable energy alternatives such as wind and bio-diesel by 2010 on our path towards a more sustainable product. In our outreach, we require our beneficiaries to participate in their programs by providing at least 25% of the total project cost in funding, materials, or sweat equity. By including beneficiaries in the planning, funding, and construction process, we empower them to take ownership and help ensure project sustainability.
We encourage our employees to get involved in their local communities in Fiji and around the world. At our factory, FIJI Water organizes regular volunteer events for our FIJI Water family in local hospitals and schools, and is a supporter of Community Policing. As a Roll International company, FIJI Water participates in the Roll Giving Employee Grants program, which provides allows every salaried employee a designated amount of company money to contribute to three charities of their choice. In the last year, FIJI Water’s Fiji employees have made significant donations to:
| Fiji Cancer Society | Fiji Crippled Children’s Society |
| Treasure House Orphanage | Rescue Mission Community Association |
| Dilkusha Girls Home | Rotary Pacific Water for Life Trust |
| Ra Special School for Handicapped Children | St. Christopher’s Orphanage |
| Father Law Old Person’s Home | |
| Veilomani Rehabilitation Center and Vocational School for Boys | |

In Fiji and throughout the world, FIJI Water recognizes the essential role that education and health care systems play in improving quality of life. We are in regular dialogue with our local schools and hospitals about their needs and how we can help. Among our Fiji-based employees, we encourage participation in school and hospital fundraisers, volunteer work days, and special events. Our employees sit on the boards of our two local hospitals, on all local school boards, and some are certified Red Cross volunteers who are called upon in times of national disaster. We hope the work of the FIJI Water Foundation can help bring this level of support and enhancement to hospitals and schools all over Fiji.
FIJI Water is reducing our waste stream and improving waste treatment and recycling infrastructure in our neighborhood and throughout Fiji. We work with local schools, sports teams, and clubs to collect recyclables as a fundraising incentive. In connection with our commitment to product sustainability, we’ve also partnered with Conservation International and the people of Fiji to protect the Sovi Basin, the country’s largest lowland rainforest and home to numerous unique plant and animal species.
FIJI Water is making a significant contribution to the Fijian economy, and that’s not just measured in jobs. We provide all 500 of our Fiji-based workers with a true living wage plus benefits and quarterly bonuses based upon performance. We are proud to invest in our human resources: in addition to in-house health care, we offer education and skills development, and regularly bring world-class technicians in to train our local employees. We also hope the work of the FIJI Water Foundation will spur other companies in Fiji to take up the torch of private sector outreach.
FIJI Water Foundation is committed to funding projects that:
- Address inequities in neglected areas
- Produce measurable and sustainable results
- Promote community stewardship
- Encourage collaboration between local government, private-sector, and not-for-profit partners
- Act as catalysts for continued growth and change
- Favor preventative approaches
- Build upon our current project strategies
